If I'm planning an outdoor ceremony, where do I have my ceremony during inclement weather?
Your Wisp Wedding Specialist will work with you to compose the best backup plan possible based on availability. We understand that Mother Nature can be unpredictable at times and we want to help take away that stress. The wedding ceremony will be brought inside to a designated available space or conducted within the reception space that the couple has selected.
Is there convenient parking for my guests at the outdoor ceremony sites?
Wisp offers a resort map to direct your guests to the mountain top parking lot.
Does Wisp provide discounted lodging for out-of-town wedding guests?
Wisp’s Wedding Specialist will put together a wedding room block that will give your guests the option to call in and make their own reservations at a group discounted rate. This discounted rate is given only if a minimum of ten rooms are booked at the resort, and available up to forty-five (45) days prior to the wedding date.
Considering that this will be a destination wedding, what do I need to do to be legally married in Garrett County?

How many people can your various reception venues accommodate?
The McHenry Lodge will accommodate up to 450 guests; banquet / reception style. The Mountain Mist Event Tent will accommodate up to 250 guests; banquet / reception style. There are other venues that can accommodate from 10 to 150 guests.
Does Wisp allow any outside food and beverage to be brought onsite?
Wisp Resort’s private banquet and function spaces are not open to any outside food and beverage. All arrangements need to be made through Wisp Resort Staff. This policy pertains to food and alcohol. Your Wisp Wedding Specialist will help you coordinate
items such as your wedding cake and wedding favors; as you are able to bring those on property.
I have heard that there are alcohol restrictions in Garrett County on Sundays. What would I have to keep in mind when considering a Sunday wedding reception?
Laws have changed in most districts over the last couple years in Garrett County. Wisp Resort is now legally allowed to serve alcohol from 10am to Midnight on Sundays with no meal requirement. Your Wisp Wedding Specialist will assist in planning and executing a reception around these laws.
What is needed to confirm my wedding event with Wisp Resort?
Your Wisp Wedding Specialist will create a wedding contract that will include date, ceremony venue, reception venue, minimum requirements, lodging rates and possible other details. At the time of signature, a down payment is required. This down payment will go towards your overall expenditure of your event. Once both have been received, your wedding event is confirmed.
