About The Course

Lodestone Golf Course is in a league all its own. Ranked the #2 Public Golf Course in Maryland by GolfWeek Magazine (2012-2015, 2017, 2018, and 2019), Lodestone has some of the largest greens on the East Coast, fairways large enough to be forgiving, and various tees offer a variety and challenge for every golfer. 

Lodestone Golf Course is a mountain gem with sweeping and stunning views of mountain ranges along Deep Creek Lake.

Lodestone's Practice Facilities

Located outside the Lodestone Clubhouse, Lodestone’s driving range and green/chipping area encompass over 11,000 square yards. The driving range is 300 yards long by 125 yards wide to help you hone your drives, while the putting green and chipping area improves your short game. Featuring 14 tee stations with natural and synthetic surfaces. Proper golf attire is required when using the practice facility. 

The Lodestone Driving Range closes every Tuesday at 3:00 PM and re-opens Wednesday at 12:00 PM during golf season.

Lodestone Golf Rules

  • U.S.G.A Rules govern all play.
  • Rates are per person and do not include taxes.
  • Golf rates at Lodestone Golf Course include greens fee, cart fee, and use of driving range day of play.
  • No one under 18 can drive a cart. Please keep a maximum of two riders and two bags per cart.
  • We always require appropriate golf attire, including non-metal spikes and collared shirts with sleeves.
  • No denim is permitted.
  • No practice pitching or playing with more than one ball.
  • Each player must have a bag and a set of clubs. Fivesomes are prohibited.
  • It is against Maryland Law to bring alcoholic beverages onto a licensed premise. All food and beverage must be purchased at Wisp/Lodestone. No personal coolers allowed.
  • Please repair all divots and ball marks and rake bunkers after play.
  • Avoid slow play! Be ready to hit when it’s your turn. Keep up with the group in front of you. Do not waste time between nines. Golfers stopping between nines forfeit their right to the 10th tee. Expect to play 18 holes in approximately 4.5 hours.
  • Above all, be courteous to fellow golfers and enjoy your round!
