Wisp Resort’s mission to make skiing and riding affordable for everyone continues with the introduction of the Ace's FREE Learn to Ski & Snowboard Program, designed specifically for first-timers ages 8 and up.
Mr. Helmuth ‘Ace’ Heise brought skiing to the state of Maryland and a new found passion for the winters in Garrett County. Wisp Resort exists today because of the dedication and personal efforts of Ace himself.
The Team at Wisp Resort is proud to introduce Ace’s Free Learn to Ski program for first-time skiers and snowboarders. “With the goal of creating life-long skiers and snowboarders, Ace’s FREE Learn to Ski/Ride Program offers an affordable and accessible way for everyone to explore the thrill of snow sports,” explained Ski and Snowboard School Director, Eric Anderson.
There’s ample opportunity to get involved with Ace’s FREE Learn to Ski/Ride Program. Sessions will take place at the Yurt Village Learning Center, starting at 9:00 AM for 1.5 hours, and will include everything needed to get started. Participants are required to make a refundable $29 deposit per lesson, which will be refunded once the session is complete—or it can be used to extend the lift ticket and equipment rental for the remainder of the day!
Program includes three 1 1/2 hour group lessons, rental equipment, and lift ticket.
