Into The Blue
There’s no telling what you’ll find when you head out into the blue. Of course, there’s the sunshine, the sparkle on the water, and the undeniable happiness that comes with the combination of those things, but there’s more than meets the eye. Just beyond the surface, whether through legend or fact, whispers of a Lake Monster float by, and apparently, this creature has called Deep Creek Lake home since its creation in 1925.
As summer settles in, we feel a pull toward everything blue. The lure of the lake far outweighs the lore of the lake monster, keeping us in tune to the suddenly beachy, sun-soaked air around town. Lately, every moment feels like lunchtime and every day a Saturday, pulling us toward lake time and away from routine – and how could you possibly blame us?
We’re fully embracing the summer feeling that arrives when the trees are greener, the water is more vivid, and there’s something musical about the wind in the mountains. Everyone knows that life is better at the lake, and we couldn’t possibly agree more, except we might add that it’s much better on Maryland’s Mountaintop.
Deep Creek Lake Adventures
Deep Creek Lake is home to a Lake Monster that’s been swimming around since 1925. Whether it’s truly a monster or just a white oak log, you may never know until you hear it directly on the water. Stage Wisp Summer Concert Series
Celebrate Summer in Deep Creek Lake with the Stage Wisp Concert Series and Artisan Market! Every Wednesday in July and August you can walk through the market beginning at 5pm to browse local artisan booths chock full of hand-crafted wares, homemade gifts, and unique goods. Then put your dancing shoes on for the main event — Stage Wisp! Enjoy FREE live music from 6:00pm to 8:30pm under the saddle tent on the front lawn – don’t forget your blanket and lawn chairs! Hot eats and cool drinks will be available for purchase on the outdoor deck.
